Published by the editors of Cars magazine. Subsequently including content from Road & Track (US) magazine. According to the first editor of Sports Car World, Ian Fraser, when Sports Cars & Specials folded, K G Murrays, a Sydney publishing house, was looking for a publication to add to their portfolio and basically took over the staff to produce Sports Car World (Australia). This was reported in the 25th anniversary edition of SCW (then a quarterly publication) April/June 1982.
