Short description:
From the middle of 1955 the magazine "Das Automobil" appeared, which was published monthly by the publishing house Auto und Kraftrad. In 1958, after Alfred Dobler and his „Gildeverlag" joined, and after moving to Alfeld/Leine, the magazine "automobil" was created.
Between 1958 and 1963 the German-language magazine "automobil - Technik, Sport, Touristik" was published, which originated from the magazine "Auto und Kraftrad". It was first published once a month, then every two weeks. In 1963 it was published in the magazine "Automobil Illustrierte", while on the way the title "Kleinwagen" was also integrated.
The German magazine "automobil illustrierte" appeared every two weeks and included test and driving reports in which sporty cars were moved, reports, extensive motor sports coverage, tips and advice, gasoline discussions and legal issues. In 1967 it was published in the magazine "Rallye Racing", the last issue being the double number 13+14/67.
