Short description:
Motor-Kritik was a progressive automobile magazine published between 1922 and 1945. Its predecessor was the magazine "Klein-Motor-Sport" from 1922 to 1928. After 1945, the paper was combined with the "Motor-Rundschau", which in turn was sold to the magazine "Mot. "
The magazine "Klein-Motor-Sport" was founded in 1922 by civil engineer Oscar Ursinus and reported on motorcycles and small cars. In 1927, the "H. Bechhold Verlagsbuchhandlung" in Frankfurt am Main took over the unprofitable magazine and appointed Josef Ganz, a young progressive engineer and critical automobile journalist, as editor-in-chief. After the Nazis seized power, the Gestapo forced Josef Ganz to resign in 1933 because of his Jewish background. His colleague Georg Ising took over the post and remained editor-in-chief until the magazine was discontinued at the end of the Second World War in 1945.
