I'm hoping someone might have an issue of Auto Action from 1984 that has an advertisement for the Cannonball Cup, an illegal cross-country race that took place in November 1984.

I'm also looking for any information or media reports about the race for a website I am working on: Cannonball.info

If anyone can assist please let me know.

Also looking for Street & Strip articles anytime after 1984 about the 1984 Cannonball Cup and 1984 or 1986 Paradise to Perth Cannonball.

Was Cannonball Cup a Aussie version on Cannonball Run that ran in the USA? where there was also the Gunball Rally
The original US one was started up by one Senior Car Reporters and founders of Cars & Driver as a protest against the US governments new speed limit of 55mph on the open Highway - He was was sacked by the mag and the event was successful and led to a few more and various movies

Both these Australian races were inspired by the US Cannonball but not connected.
