First published in August 1956 by Pioneer Publications Ltd (owned by Lord Montague of Beaulieu) until the last issue in August 1979. Sold to IPC which re-commenced publication as Collectors Cars with the September issue 1979 under editor Philip Young of later HERO fame.

Originally published as The Vintage & Thoroughbred Car by Pioneer Publications Ltd in February 1953 and lasted for less than 4 years. Subsequently purchased by Lord Montague of Beaulieu and re-launched as The Veteran & Vintage Magazine in August 1956 and produced until the last issue in August 1979. Sold to IPC which re-commenced publication as Collectors Cars under editor Philip Young of later HERO fame with the September issue 1979 until September 1981 when it was merged into Thoroughbred & Classic Cars magazine.
