Added description:
• Next week a new title will greet you on the bookstalls: Motor. Behind it will lurk a bigger, better, completely restyled magazine packed with ideas to put more life into motoring at every level. If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of our regular readers, you may well be asking why we are changing The Motor. The answer, in a nutshell, is that we believe motoring is here to stay—and not just as fun for the few. We have planned the new Motor to include something for every man (or woman) who drives a car. What sort of features do you want? Two things are obvious: First, more help in using your car for business or pleasure, week-end jaunt or holiday tour, with hard facts as well as helpful hints: second, in an age when everybody's budget feels the pinch of one motoring tax after another, really useful information about ways of cutting the cost. In the past our editorial features have been directed to the motor enthusiast. Our analyses of new cars, road test reports and dramatic sports reporting have all helped to win us a wide and constant readership. Regular readers of The Motor will find that new Motor contains all this information and much more besides. A completely new section will serve the leisure motorist, with critical reports on hotels and restaurants, holiday routes, service stations—all the essentials to help the whole family enjoy motoring. A second new section—printed on tinted paper and included in the centre of every copy of new Motor—will provide information for the cost-conscious motorist; detailed advice on owner maintenance and the buying of used cars together with a guide to the second-hand prices of 200 models of popular car. This supplement will include our usual classified advertisements with thousands of used car bargains. And this isn't all. Motor will fight for safer roads, turn a fresh eye on parking problems and look for the offbeat story. It will have a completely new look, a full-colour editorial front cover, brighter writing, bigger print and better pictures. We have worked on the new Motor for months: we think you'll like it as much as we do.
