The Australian Buick Bulletin. Fordowner, any information sought.

In the early teens before General Motors Australia was an entity, Australian Buick dealers published their own magazine, usually of at least 16 pages full of interesting events in Australia by Buick owners. When things were a little slow on that front they would include news from overseas. I have editions from 1916, and have seen them as late as 1923. In 1918 the title of this publication changed to The Buick Bulletin of Australasia, to incorporate New Zealand and other south Pacific dealers.
I would be interested in obtaining more editions of this magazine, or even compile a list of these very rare magazines via the Magazine Collector.

I also wonder if other makes sold in Australia produced these types of magazines for dealers and owners. I have seen a copy of the Fordoner from 1932, and I know that the Ford News magazines were available from Australian dealers in the 1940's through 1950's.

The museum has just acquired 14 bound volumes of Ford News from 1944 to 1958 (except 1957) in extremely good condition.

It was produced by Sydney Ford dealer Hastings Deering.

Most issues have 44 pages.

Going by the volume numbers, it appears that it started in 1936.

Good morning, I am aware of these and they do turn up at swap meets and online, and clearly hastings & deering were prolific in their advertising and distribution. They did a lot of their own sales literature for Ford vehicles as well. These Ford News were often full of content from the US Ford News magazines sent to dealers in Nth America, with a few pages relevant to Australian events and releases. A great collection to have.
